Valley of the wounded heart

Valley-of-the-woonded-heart-small“Valley of the Wounded Heart”
Lyrics and Music by Russell Preston

When I first lit the Light of Love, I was young and un-concerned.
But, it left me “Tender to the Touch”  on the spot where I got burned.
So, as Bold as I may seem tonight, as I advance before your Flame……
Go gently as it guides your way  into my Heart’s Domaine.

Follow the River, on it’s Long and Winding Course,
To meet me in my Weakness by the Fountain at the Source.
And, we’ll drink a Cup of Innocense, for Strength as we depart.
Then We’ll walk through the Valley, The Valley of the Wounded Heart.

I have cloaked myself in the Mantel of the Heroin, Cool and Strong,
and ignored the Voice inside of me that sings a different song,
of the One who once surrendered   all her Will to the One she Loved,
just to see him fly away…..like the Wild and Fearful Dove.

Follow the River, on it’s Long and Winding Course,
To meet me in my Weakness by the Fountain at the Source.
And, we’ll drink a Cup of Innocense, for Strength as we depart.
Then We’ll walk through the Valley, for, my Love hides in the Valley,
Yes, we’ll walk through the Valley, the Valley of the Wounded Heart…..
The Valley of the Wounded  Heart.
