Invitation to a Journey
Sister, Little Child, think how sweet a world, you and I would make together….
Love idle and slow, love until we die, You and the land like one another.
Lands where suns hang moist, in a sky of mist, all my thoughts secretly steeping
in the strange repose of your faithless eyes when they glitter through your weeping.

All is Ordered Beauty there, Calm and Luxury and Pleasure…….

Polished wood will gleam smoothed alight with time. Scattered ’round our Quiet Chamber,
Flowers of rare birth, interfuse their breath with the vague aroma of Amber.
Richly paneled walls, mirrors deep as wells, all the splendors of the East
Whisper to the Soul sounds that once would lul when we listened at the Breast.

All is Ordered Beauty there, Calm and Luxury and Pleasure……

On these Bright Canals, furled asleep in sails, see the restless vessels lie.
At your easiest whim, eagerly they come from the far coasts of the Sea.
Sunset there enfolds low mist-breathing fields, Fretted Spire, canal and street
In Hyacinth and gold all the drowsy world drops asleep in Heat and Light.

All is Ordered Beauty there, Calm and Luxury and Pleasure……..
